Clue/Question:  After the kite was invented, people didn’t take long to – – –

Simple Kite Festival Drawing

Answer:  CATCH WIND OF IT

(Ooh!  A great historical pun!  My two bit research says that the earliest kites were not made of paper, but most likely made of silk, over a bamboo frame.  This kind of makes sense, when you think about it.  Silk was abundant in China, and it’s much more durable than paper.  Paper kites don’t really survive trees and crashes very well.

All four clue words are on the ralis95 clue word database.  However, all four jumbles appear to be new!  They all came to me immediately though.  The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble.  I thought it was impressively cryptic.  But regardless, I got the final answer right away.  I think the clue/question set it up perfectly.

Great Far Eastern Asian cartoon.  For me, it’s always hard to differentiate between traditional Chinese and Japanese artwork.  To me, the clothing and the hairstyles, and the trees/landscapes, are just so similar.  Maybe those funky belts are the giveaway?  Any Asian art historians out there?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
