SIPEO = POISE, KLENT = KNELT, VCRAAI = CAVIAR, KNITYS = STINKY — Giving us: PIENELIASTN
Clue/Question: It was easy to see the airport as they approached because it was now – – –

Answer: IN “PLANE” “SITE“
(Wow! The very rare and elusive double pun, with a play on PLAIN, and also on SIGHT. And, I could say that they were stinky puns, but David L. Hoyt already used “stinky” as a clue word! So, I need to refrain from doing so. Maybe one was rank, and the other was putrid? I’ll leave that to those who have no appreciation of puns.
All of the clue words are already on the ralis95 clue word database. However, three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me. I can only verify that we’ve seen “sipeo” in past Jumbles. I always have a hard time coming up with the words for things that I’m not fond of. Today it was “caviar”. I was in my early 20s when I had my own Josh Baskins – from “Big” – moment. Someone got me to try caviar, and I ended up spitting it into a napkin. Yuck! I’m just not into “acquired tastes”. I’m not a subscriber of “learning to like” things. I just like what I like. The answer letter layout was an elastic eleven letter jumble. Sleekly cryptic. I think the spacing of the final answer slots, and the quotation marks, are what set me on the right runway.
Great cartoon of a couple approaching an airport. Kind of hard to tell if they are getting there for a flight that they’re taking somewhere, or if they’re picking someone up. But regardless, they’re on time. Funny, their car’s window treatment kind of looks like that of an airplane’s cockpit. Very fun Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
