Clue/Question: The deacon introduced herself to the church’s minister by saying – – –
Answer: AT YOUR SERVICE
(A prim, proper . . . and pious pun! Rated G. Suitable for the whole family. Did you guys see where Trump tried to attack Biden on religion? “No religion, no anything,” Trump said of Biden on Thursday. “Hurt the Bible. Hurt God. He’s against God.” He just pulls ridiculous allegations out of his keister, and hopes that the folks who swallow everything that he says – like baby birds – will store this tripe in their 4 kilo byte brains. He is such a hypocrite too. Two of his three weddings – oh, the sanctity of marriage! – were in a church, but his one to Marla Maples was at the Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom. So, we do know that he has been to church . . . at least twice. Heck, I would bet that I’ve been to church probably ten times more than he has, and I’m a confirmed Agnostic/Pantheist! I’ve got nothing against divorce. To put it in the vernacular; it’s a necessary evil. But, I’ve been married only once, for the past 34 years. Mr. Trump has wracked up a grand total of 35 years among his three wives. And, I’m eleven years younger than him! Love? Repentance? Forgiveness? He wouldn’t know a Christian tenet if it came up and bit him on the nose! Oh! Don’t get me started, people!
All of today’s clue words are tried and TRUE. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but “cenef” and “vaarl” have both signed NDAs. The answer letter layout looks like a thirteen letter tribute to our pal hal/roy. Somehow, I was able to see the word SERVICE first, then AT YOUR came into view. Very clever pun.
A nice, but very rare, church scene cartoon. I think the minister has exaggerated just a bit. I would say it’s more of a modest crowd, than a great one. Probably best, for a first time though. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

I guess I’m not sufficiently religious; I had a hard time spotting SERVICE!
I was thinking IT or SO for the first word, before I saw SERVICE. I didn’t even consider AT . . . at first. — YUR
Congratulations on 34 years of “happy” bliss.
I’m assuming you didn’t have a gun to her head to keep her there. 😉
I wish you many more !
Yeah, me too. It’s a fine final answer that flows well once you see the whole thing, but I too got held up trying two-letter words that would more easily flow from “saying,” such as “saying it,” “saying so,” and “saying to.” “Saying AT” seems like it wouldn’t work for this setup. That definitely increased the challenge of solving this one. I needed a wing and a prayer to get there.

Do they still have the Rotary Club, Ken??? When I was young, I probably thought it was kinda corny. But, now I appreciate how civic minded Rotarians are/were. — YUR
