Clue/Question: After her opponent made a 70-foot putt for eagle, – – –

Solution: SHE WAS SUNK
(Who’s keeping track of these golf puns??? Why do they say “sink” a putt anyway? Every time you make a putt the ball sinks into the hole. Right? And, with these long ones they also like to say he/she drained the putt. Is the ball supposed to be like water, and the hole is the drain? Golf has got to be one of our goofier sports, with the goofiest of idioms. I think the entire sport was designed just so we could have Jumble puns!
Even without telling you, I’m sure that you all knew that there were no new clue words today. However, you may be be surprised that David L. Hoyt has given us four new jumbles. At least they appear that way to this blog. The answer letter layout is an excellent ten letter jumble. I didn’t struggle to get the final answer, but folks who never watch/play golf might have.
Satisfactory golf green cartoon. Would that be the caddie tending the pin? Hey! Did you guys see where Tiger Woods caddied for his eleven year old son this weekend? Young Charlie won the 9-hole “tournament” by five strokes! Tiger was wearing the biggest smile he’s sported in years. The proud papa! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
