Happily we bask in this warm September sun, which illuminates all creatures.”   —   Henry David Thoreau

Polvo :: Thoreau, el libertario

What’s the use of a fine house if you haven’t go a tolerable planet to put it on?”   —   Henry David Thoreau

(Yes!  Even before John Muir we had some great minds with an essential appreciation for nature.  HDT was such a mind.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Want To Be More Creative? Turn To Henry David Thoreau | by John P. Weiss | Medium

You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.”   —   Henry David Thoreau

(It certainly beats living in the past, or constantly stressing about the future.  I always think of autumn when I think of Thoreau.  Sauntering on a crisp fall day.  Just enjoying the wild wonders of the natural world.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

6 anchors that are holding you back | Biblical Leadership

To inherit property is not to be born – it is to be stillborn, rather.”   —   Henry David Thoreau

Trojan horse: Women deacons is how the Anglican communion got to ...

Visual Description:  Reporting for duty.

CENEF  =  FENCE,  VAARL  =  LARVA,  ARTOYR  =  ROTARY,  BSIUTM  =  SUBMIT   —   Giving us:  ECEARVROYSUIT

Clue/Question:  The deacon introduced herself to the church’s minister by saying – – –

RORATE CÆLI: Ecclesia Amazonica - Prepare Your Hearts: Deaconesses ...

Answer:  AT YOUR SERVICE

(A prim, proper . . . and pious pun!  Rated G.  Suitable for the whole family.  Did you guys see where Trump tried to attack Biden on religion?  “No religion, no anything,” Trump said of Biden on Thursday. “Hurt the Bible. Hurt God. He’s against God.”  He just pulls ridiculous allegations out of his keister, and hopes that the folks who swallow everything that he says – like baby birds – will store this tripe in their 4 kilo byte brains.  He is such a hypocrite too.  Two of his three weddings – oh, the sanctity of marriage! – were in a church, but his one to Marla Maples was at the Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom.  So, we do know that he has been to church . . . at least twice.  Heck,  I would bet that I’ve been to church probably ten times more than he has, and I’m a confirmed Agnostic/Pantheist!  I’ve got nothing against divorce.  To put it in the vernacular; it’s a necessary evil.  But, I’ve been married only once, for the past 34 years.  Mr. Trump has wracked up a grand total of 35 years among his three wives.   And, I’m eleven years younger than him!  Love?  Repentance?  Forgiveness?  He wouldn’t know a Christian tenet if it came up and bit him on the nose!  Oh!  Don’t get me started, people!

All of today’s clue words are tried and TRUE.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but “cenef” and “vaarl” have both signed NDAs.  The answer letter layout looks like a thirteen letter tribute to our pal hal/roy.  Somehow, I was able to see the word SERVICE first, then AT YOUR came into view.  Very clever pun.

A nice, but very rare, church scene cartoon.  I think the minister has exaggerated just a bit.  I would say it’s more of a modest crowd, than a great one.  Probably best, for a first time though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Why Do We Love Henry David Thoreau? | The New Yorker

Friends will not only live in harmony merely, as some say, but in melody.”   —   Henry David Thoreau

(Good ol’ Hank Davy Thoroughly!  He knew that – collectively – we make sweet music . . . together.  Nothing wrong with a little redundancy.  It’s kinda like the chorus.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I have received no more than one or two letters in my life that were worth the postage.”   —   Henry David Thoreau

(After he published this, Hank and I ceased being Pen Pals!  Arrogant little pr . . . !  You might be wondering why we’re seeing another HDT quote so soon after the last one.  It seems that Rebecca is contractually obligated to run a certain number of each of the big quotesters each year.  She fell short of HDT quotes last year, and she just wanted to get him out of the way.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Books can only reveal us to ourselves, and as often as they do us this service we lay them aside.”   —   Henry David Thoreau

(Been a while since we’ve seen a quote from Hank!  I stayed away from the author, so this was a fairly challenging solve.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
