Visual Description: The result of Jeff’s preview?
SATHS = STASH, HNIEW = WHINE, INDOIE = IODINE, AGNAME = MANAGE — Giving us: TSHWNEODNEMAA
Clue/Question: “Victory” and “victory” are – – –

Answer: “WON“ AND THE SAME
(I thought this final answer was a toughie! The set up did not make the answer obvious, to me. And, the cartoon contained no bonus clues! All of today’s clue words are old favorites, and they have used the jumble “saths” sometime in the past. The toughest one for me was “indoie”.
The answer letter layout gave absolutely nothing away. It was a super cryptic, 13-letter long jumble. I looked at the cartoon, the dialog, and the the clue/question four or five times, and had bupkis! For a couple of seconds I was considering something using ONE AND DONE. I couldn’t come up with a third 3-letter word, and there was only one O anyway. Then, I thought maybe the pun word was TWO, you know for TOO, and either the second or third word was going to be AND. That left me with SHNEEMA, which I could do nothing with, except HEN and SAME. But, “TWO” HEN AND SAME would have been one funky golf phrase! Smartly, I decided against that. The word SAME stuck with me, and I thought back to the ONE AND DONE scenario, and the pun word hit me, and the H and E gave me THE, wonce I ruled out TWO! We haven’t seen one that required this much thinking in quite a while!
Nice golf cartoon! I guess Jeff gave us a little preview with his comment on yesterday’s spoiler. I always think of Sydney with swimming, but I guess she’s become an accomplished golfer as well. Congrats to her, and the Knurek family. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
