Answer: LEFT AND “WRITE“
(The ever popular period piece pun! Excuse the alliteration. No surprise clue words today. They are all on the ralis95 clue word database! All of the jumbles appear to be new though. They all pretty much leapt off the page at me today.
The answer letter layout was the niftiest jumble! It wasn’t super cryptic, but it wasn’t mega-obvious either. The letters were there to make the third word TWAIN, but that would have limited the first two words significantly. FRED LET “TWAIN”??? Doesn’t fit the clue/question very well.
The cartoon is the prize of the day. That sure looks like a young Mark Twain, to me! The wall sconce shows that it’s pre-electricity. And, the stogie in the ashtray was a nice touch. Fun Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
