Answer: “INN–COMMUNICADO“
(Excellent stinky pun! One of the best Jumble answers of all-time, in my opinion. So much to like about today’s puzzle, from the clue words, to the great cartoon, to the great punny answer.
We do have a new clue word today, in “midst”! It took a couple of looks before seeing that one. Our good buddy, ralis95, will have to add this to his world famous clue word database. All of today’s jumbles came up as new. The answer letter layout was a very impressive – 14-letter – jumble too. By itself, I don’t think it gave anything away. I think the quotation marks and the hyphen, along with cartoon’s dialog and the clue/question, is what enabled me to get the answer right away.
The cartoon offered up a lot to like too. The old guy in the flannel shirt and Wilford Brimley mustache. His faithful, nosy cat. The floral wallpaper under the window. And, the view out the window is fun, with the pine trees going up a mountain, and a small lake, and the rocking chair on the porch completes the scene. Great Friday Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. I found it sad to read that Mary Frann, who played Bob’s wife Joanna on the show, died at the tender age of 55. Such a shame. This spoiler is dedicated to her memory. — YUR

why is your site one day behind ? i can get the answers the next day in my local paper.
A day behind??? Unless I don’t have access to a computer, like when I’m away, or some event keeps me from posting, I post all my spoilers the same day. Maybe not as early as many would like to see them, but by and large, they’re all posted the same day, Terri. — YUR
Hey terri, I think you meant to say, “Thanks Unclerave for all your hard work; I enjoy the blog.” Unc does *two* of these (another for Cryptoquotes) most every day just to share, not for $$$, and the bonus content is not in the newspaper the next day.
I figure she’s just a little confused, David. I don’t take any offense. I have some Schaefers in my family! Sadly, I’m not sure which spelling. There are a few different spellings. I’ll have to ask my Aunt.

Maybe she’s in Japan, or the Philippines, or somewhere ahead of U.S. time. When I post after noon it could look like the next day to her. — YUR
Ditto-ing David’s comments on ‘thank you, Unclerave!’ X 10!!
Working my way up the ladder….but had to stop here with a shout out to our GREAT Unc!!!! He ROCKS! Just sayin’!!
PS–Not this behind on the Jumbles–this behind on checking the blog.what LL
