Jumble Spoiler – 01/17/19

Clue/Question:  It was time to get a new lawnmower because the one they had wasn’t – – –

Answer:  CUTTING IT

(I’m hoping mine can be repaired.  I hit a root, like I almost do every week, and the darn thing came to a dead halt.  I tried a few times to restart it, but to no avail.  I’m a little weird, in that I enjoy cutting the lawn.  It’s great exercise, and it gives me time to think, without interruption.  Sometimes I get so lost in thought, that when someone comes to tell me something, or honks their horn, I jump about a foot in the air.

Surprisingly, there were no new clue words today.  I really thought that “getup” might be new.  To me it’s not really a word, it’s two words.  But, the mysterious keepers of the compound word have deemed it a compound word.  Technically, I had to back into it.  I saw it, but dismissed it.  All of the jumbles came up as new.  I really liked “artnut”!  The answer letter layout was a pretty good jumble too.  But, even without the G and T, from “getup”, it was no problem getting the final answer.

Great cartoon though.  I hope they disconnected the spark plug!  I don’t know why, but I was getting an Australian vibe.  Did any of you guys think Aussie too?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
