Clue/Question: The process for making beef jerky is – – –

Answer: CUT–AND–DRY
(A very nice literal/figurative pun. Hey! Who’s to say that the phrase didn’t originate with dried meat, and/or fish? Any hunter-gatherers out there reading this blog? Maybe that guy from the old Geico ads???
I kinda think Hoyt had it out for us today. Well, at least for me. Last off – by order of the jumbles – he gave us a new clue word, in “nodded”. I wonder if he’s still putting his dad to work, finding new clue words? Well, he’s definitely putting ralis95 to work, as this is the third day in a row that he’s having to update his world famous clue word database. Surprisingly, I got that word right away, as I did “bylaw”. But, the jumbles for both “tulip” and “circus” really had me going. I finally got “tulip” on my own, and felt more than a little silly. But, I had to back into getting “circus”! Very regular words, but diabolical – hello, LL – jumbles. All the jumbles came up as new today. The answer letter layout was a nifty 9-letter jumble too. The clue/question, and the hyphens in the answer line, made getting the answer easy for me. Although, I probably could have gotten it without the hyphens as well.
Fun cartoon. Is this what Green Bay fans do when they don’t make the playoffs? Jeff must have some cheese-head friends. I’ve never made jerky before. I’ve often been jerky, but that’s something different altogether. Do you typically use flank steak? With all the snow outside the window, I’m definitely getting an upper Mid-West feel. Sorta like Fargo . . . don’tchaknow! Good Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
