Clue/Question: The theme for the Inspector Clouseau film caused Blake Edwards to be – – –

Answer: TICKLED PINK
(What a marvelous comedy series “The Pink Panther” movies were/are. They had success with the early ones in the ’60s, but I think the reboot of the series in the mid ’70s really made them more memorable, at least for me. I remember watching them in the student union at college with my girlfriend. We laughed so hard that tears were streaming down our faces. I remember one scene, in one of the movies, where Inspector Clouseau was wearing a disguise of a wax nose. I think he went into a sauna, or something, and the elevated heat made the nose start to slowly melt. It kept drooping further and further. It was a riot, because the good inspector was always so oblivious to just about everything. That Peter Sellers was a comic genius. Anywho . . .
No new clue words at all, today. However, all of the jumbles came up as new. None of them were toughies. The answer letter layout was a wonderful 11-letter jumble. I guess if you weren’t familiar with the movies the answer might have been difficult, but that was no problem for me.
Great cartoon of both Henry Mancini and Blake Edwards, the geniuses behind the scenes. Beautiful piano, and the Oscars on the cabinet, and gold record on the wall made for the total picture. Thanks for bringing back the great memories, David and Jeff! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
