One must always be careful of books and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”   —   Cassandra Clare

English: Political correctness meets fungus nomenclature To avoid any accusation of anti-semitism, I’ll call this “Judas-ear” or “Jelly-ear” fungus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auricularia_auricula-judae It grows on wet wood (particularly elm and elder, says Wikipedia) in shaded conditions. This fine example was found deep inside a damp woodstack. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

(But, isn’t this one of the main points of books???  This seems to be a strange quote coming from an author . . . of books.  Is this a line from one of her characters, in one of her books?  Or, is she trying to make some kind of “political correctness” point?  It just sounds like censorship – which, unfortunately, is what a lot of political correctness really is – to me.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

  1. Thanks, Wayne! I can dig irony. It’s just not always apparent when a quote like this is not put into some kind of context.
