Answer:  SUNK IN

(Fun pun.  Short.  No new clue words, three new jumbles.  We’ve seen “crusic” before.  I thought it was the toughest of the jumbles.  Decent answer letter layout, and a great cartoon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Absolutely right, UR, nothing challenging about today’s Jumble, but a cute cartoon showing the guy not even ankle-deep yet.
PS. Today’s Cryp was not the first by Cassandra Clare, but I still had no idea who she was.

I did today’s Jumble in less than a minute.

Do you do them online, like Vijay does? I do them the old-fashioned way, and I’m sure that writing out the unjumbled clue words must take me probably 2 – 3 seconds for each word, then maybe a little longer to write out the answer letter layout, and about the same amount of time to write out the answer. And, that’s all assuming everything goes 1, 2, 3. Timing myself is not important to me. I guess I’ve lost my *need for speed*.

I do them on the daily paper. As soon as I looked at it I knew the answer. For some reason all the words just jumped right out at me.

Today’s was easy, as all of you felt. I thought a second for SNAPPY. CIRCUS has given me a lot of trouble in the past, but today I saw it right away. Guess having “tough words”, “tougher words” and “toughest words” lists is proving beneficial. 🙂 This word was in the toughest words list – today I took it off that list. Since you are talking about timing, I took 8 seconds to solve the Jumble. Not that important, but here are my overall and monthly averages for this year. I don’t have the need for speed as much as I do the need for stats. 🙂

    Overall: 28.73 s
    Jan: 28.55 s
    Feb: 30.21 s

    Personal best: 7 s
    Personal worst: 267 s

I’ve never done one in 7s; takes me longer than that to write down the answers. Then write down the clue letters. But I also sometimes stop between words; I don’t always do the whole puzzle at once. Unless all the answers come to me right away.
I suppose if I don’t count the time to write down the letters, I might approach 7s.
PS. I have a paper copy of the puzzle.

“Circus” had me stumped for a while till I started working backwards from the cartoon jumble, which I had figured out was “sunk in”. So that got me to place the ‘u’ in the right position and I was able to figure out he rest of the word after that…
