A.A. Milne (Author of Winnie-the-Pooh)

Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.”   —   A.A. Milne

(Ya gotta have that plan, baby!  Winging it just won’t do.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

French playwright Molière did indeed write his own masterpieces ...

Dress unaffectedly, and without haste, follow the changes in the current taste.”   —   Molière

(I get what he means.  Dress simply and quickly, but don’t look terribly antiquated.  Those wide, floppy lapels are coming back . . . never!  Hopefully.  The only hitch in this quote is if the “current taste” is decidedly “affected”.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

At what age is it safe for kids to start running? | Exercise for ...

It is well known that the older a man grows the faster he could run as a boy.”   —   Red Smith

(Ha!  As a young boy, I was actually pretty fast.  One of the big boys in the neighborhood used to organize these track and field games, for all us kids.  This one girl, who was about a year and a half younger than me, was the fastest thing on two feet . . . except when she ran against me.  I would always just beat her.  Apparently, even at that young age, she had a crush on me.  She passed away, way too young.  I think of her often.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Twitter won't remove irresponsible Elon Musk tweet about ...

I’d like to dial it back five or ten percent and try to have a vacation that’s not just e-mail with a view.”   —   Elon Musk

(Try to take a vacation without a cell phone and/or laptop!  These security blankets are really more like anchors.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Historical Miscellany #26: Edmund Burke, Speech to the Electors of ...

People will not look forward to prosperity who never look backward to their ancestors.”   —   Edmund Burke

(In order to know where you’re going, you have to know where you have been.  History, personal and otherwise, is more important than a lot of people think.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

We have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.”   —   Charles R. Swindoll

(Spoken like a man who’s never had a really hard life.  To a large extent we do have the ability to control our attitude, but there are a lot of factors out there that can do a pretty good job of taking that away from us.  He looks a little like Stephen Colbert, in about 30 years.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

I don’t think anyone, until their soul leaves their body, is past the point of no return.”   —   Tom Hiddleston

(Wow!  And people call ME an unrealistic optimist!  LOL.  If he were Bernie Sanders the media would have pilloried him for this statement.  HOW DARE you point out any positive of a communist regime?!!!  I’m pretty sure that AIPAC, and just about all of Israel, might take some exception to this quote!  Ever heard of a guy named Adolf Hitler?  But, to quite a large extent, I actually do agree with this quote.  This is “Loki”‘s first quote to be used in the Cryptoquote, so welcome him to the Cryptoquote Club!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
