If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this shop might as well be closed for any other business.”   —   Abraham Lincoln

(This could just as easily have been said by President Obama.  I’m not saying that he has been a perfect president.  No president ever was.  Nor am I saying that I’ve agreed with everything he has done.  But, he has demonstrated otherworldly restraint, in not responding to the attacks that have been launched against him, from before the 2008 election, to today.  And, unfortunately, probably tomorrow and the day after that, and the day after that.  His detractors like to assert that their complaints are purely partisan ideology.  And, a bit of that may be true.  But there are bigger, older, and uglier . . . fearful sentiments at play here, that most refuse to acknowledge.  Largely, the same ones Lincoln faced.  And sadly, for the same old nonsensical reasons.  This country still has a long way to go.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer:  SUPPLEMENTAL

(Aah!  Tricky!  If you were thinking anything clown related then you probably had a hard time solving today’s final answer.  None of the clue words were new, although all of the jumbles came up as new.  “CELLO” is one of those words that spells out in alphabetical order.  “PUNDIT” may have been the toughest for me, but I still got it rather quickly.  The answer letter layout was sublime!  It gave away nothing.  I think it was the phrasing of the clue/question that clued me in to the answer.  The cartoon is very amusing and silly.  It did a good job of throwing me off for a bit.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
