Answer:  GO FOR BROKE

(Well.  I guess he succeeded . . . in a way.  I guess today’s answer is not really a pun, considering it is a gambling phrase, that pretty much means what it says.  It’s do or die, win or lose.  But, I guess it’s usually when you think you have a sure thing, and this guy didn’t.  If only his Jack had been a Queen, then he would’ve won, because he would also have had a straight flush, that would have been higher than the other guy’s Ace, Two, Three, Four, Five.  Live and learn!  It’s one of many reasons why I don’t really gamble.

There were no new clue words today, and only two of the jumbles came up as new.  We’ve definitely seen  both “birot” and “clikf” before.  The answer letter layout made the solving the Jumble a decent challenge.  Nothing obvious there at all.  The cartoon was great.  Full of Jeff’s usual detail.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
