Visual Description: Do the math, son!
GHIST = SIGHT, PTYIS = TIPSY, OMHOTS = SMOOTH, RPEATI = PIRATE — Giving us: SITSSMPE
Clue/Question: The construction of the staircase wasn’t going well because of all the – – –
Answer: MISSTEPS
(What a great Jumble pun! I really like this one. It works out to be one of those literal/figurative puns. Here’s one carpenter’s apprentice who probably won’t be brought on for the next job!
Our good friends ralis95 can relax today. There were no new clue words. Three of the four jumbles appear to be new, with only “ghist” having definitely been used before. I had a little difficulty coming up with “tipsy”! The answer letter layout was a great eight letter jumble. The cartoon, its dialog, and the clue/question were what led me to the final answer.
Love the cartoon too. At least two of the steps are WAY off, the bottom and the top ones. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few more weren’t seven-and-a-half inches high. A low bottom step can be managed, but that top step looks like a killer. An overall satisfying Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Hey Unc…I had trouble with “pirate”, but got through it. Backed in actually. GO BILLS!!! Big test tomorrow…Your favorite nephew…. Wimpy
I like this one too because having had a staircase built in our present home,
I can agree that it’s harder than it looks, in terms of getting the math *exactly* right. If the carpenter is off by the tiniest amount, staircase users will be trippin’, and not in a good way.
TIPSY can be tricksy. So can PSYCHE. Two words that have tripped me up big-time before, but not this time. [Han Solo: “Great kid! Don’t get cocky!!]
PIRATE had me chasing my tail. If I do not see it within 1 or 2 minutes, I use paper to put consonants above a line and vowels under the line. I always put “Y” below (don’t go there). No help and I feared I would have to use the last resort of solving the Jumble and backing into the word. I put it aside and later PIRATE just popped in my mind. I find that 75% of the time I get the words with very little effort. Then I use plan B 20% of the time and go to the last resort 5% of the time. So do I solve the Jumble 100% of the time. No, but the only time I threw in the towel in 2019 (so far) was on 08/14/2019. I got all the words and worked on the final solution off and on for 4 days before going to your post.
Or, Samuel Jackson: ‘Don’t let that go to your head, Gary.” LOL! — YUR
We had our chances, Wimpy! Allen is just not quite there yet. — YUR
