Clue/Question: They saw the polluted air by the smoking section and decided to – – –

Answer: STAY CLEAR
(And, who could blame them? Second hand smoke can be nearly as dangerous as smoking itself, and the smoke clings to your clothing and hair. For us non-smokers, this is definitely a stinky pun! I smoked for a few periods of my adolescence, but I never truly enjoyed it. And – fortunately – I don’t have an addictive personality, so I never had to fight quitting. I am semi-addicted to word puzzles! I need to do my daily Jumble and Cryptoquote. And, if I’m bored, I do the crossword puzzle.
All familiar old clue words today. Three of the jumbles came up as new, with “cante” having definitely been used before. No stumpers today, for me. The answer letter layout was a fine nine letter jumble. Nothing obvious about it.
Great cartoon! Stereotypical looking smokers. Possibly not fair to them, but . . . The non-smokers look satisfactorily judgmental too. Lungs just weren’t made for smoke, folks. And, tars and nicotine are hardly recommended “nutrients”. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
