“The words of genius have a wider meaning than the thought that prompted them.” — George Eliot
(This is actually just part of a line from her first novel: Adam Bede. The full line is: “Beauty has an expression beyond and far above the one woman’s soul that it clothes, as the words of genius have a wider meaning than the thought that prompted them.” I find her way of writing difficult to read. My Homer Simpson brain needs plain talk. Be better than yer uncle. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. I threw in this picture of a cat named George Eliot, because my buddy, Carlo, is looking to place a new stray he has kind of adopted. 4 is enough for him, and this latest one makes five. It’s a male, with a dark tabby top and white lower face, bib and front and back legs. Jersey City, NJ – if anyone is interested. — YUR
I was curious when you said ‘she’ and looked her up. I read some of her quotes and thought them simple to understand. Don’t get mad. You are much more understanding of all the other quoters than I am and I am new to this. Maybe her quotes are more to the female mind. Okay?
I think the female authors of this time tended to write more poetically than their male counterparts. I often struggle with poetry. Having someone say: *What does it mean to you?* always leaves me cold. Sometimes I just need a road map.

Add me to those who had no idea that this was a pseudonym for a lady author. Neat!
I hope the kitty can find a good home – that’s a very attractive cat. I have four myself.
Hi, Art. This cat picture was provide by Zemanta. But, I saw the cat on my buddy’s facebook page and it’s a good looking cat. Just try to imagine him from my description.
