When you have committed a fault, behave as if you were the injured person.”   —   Jonathan Swift

(I do hope Jonathan was either being sardonic when he said this, or it’s a line from an unsavory character of his!  Is this from Gulliver’s Travels?  Anyone out there know?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Visual Description:  A touchy touchy Olympic competitor.

SMUYH  =  MUSHY,  OGUBS  =  BOGUS,  CAFEED  =  DEFACE,  FIMRON  =  INFORM   —   Giving us:  UOGDANR

Clue/Question:  He was this with his expensive Fencing equipment.

Answer:  ON GUARD

(Cute!  I’m loving the sustained Olympics theme the guys have going.  Maybe even more than the actual Olympics.  I much preferred the days when it was strictly for amateur athletes.  I know the CCCP teams, and East German teams, of old were “amateur” in name only, but this whole shebang has just become far too commercial for my tastes.   You used to have to wait until the Olympics were over before you’d see a winning athlete on a Wheaties box.  Now they have ads for Secret, already on television, with a pretty little American gymnast, with nearly half the games still to go!  I think it’s both sad and ridiculous, at the same time.  Oh, well.  Congrats to our women’s Fencing team for taking the bronze medal!  As far as I know, these girls aren’t pros.

Great jumbling of the clue words.  I think “mushy” is a new clue word.  ralis95 can double check me.  I must have liked the jumbling of “inform”, as I used it as a tag.  I saved this as a draft, last night.   The answer letter layout was good enough, but the answer was fairly obvious.  Maybe if it had been in French it would have been better?!?!   En Garde!  Whadaya think, guys?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
