Clue/Question: The road down to the shoreline was perfect for this.
Answer: COASTING
(Not bad! Superlative scrambling all around! All the clue words had a certain level of difficulty, depending on where you’re coming from. My daughter acted like she’d never heard/seen the word “gulch” before. And, she graduated in the 7th percentile of her class, of 400 + kids. I think I only graduated high school, and later got into college, because someone stole some of the Regents exams that year! But, the baby girl is more of a Math and Science geek, whereas the old man is an English and History/Social Studies nerd. Okay. Move along, folks. There’s nothing more to see here. Be well, friends. It’s Saturday. You can do a little bad.) — YUR

I got agnostic and coatings but these two answers seemed weird. Aha! Switched the “s” and found the right punch line. Some have been down right hokey lately. But, wordsmiths, onward and forward. Have fun.
GULCH I got right away! Wasn’t the Wicked Witch of the West’s last name GULCH? I think that’s how I first learned it waaaaaay back when! Easy puzzle for me because I’m a bike rider and coast lover!
Only you, Richard!

Miss (Nowadays it would be “Ms.”) Elmira Gulch! She was the *real world* inspiration for Dorothy’s Wicked Witch of the West! But, I only told my daughter about it being a kind of valley or ravine. Nice screen reference, Lesley!
