“Any manifest error on the part of an enemy should make us suspect some stratagem.” — Niccolo Machiavelli
(You should never assume that your enemy is slow, or crazy. He/She might be crazy . . . like a fox! This was definitely a tough cryptoquote for me to solve. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Does anyone agree that Machiavelli’s writings have a very cynical tone ?
He suspects treachery everywhere.
But of course. He was very calculating and manipulative, and he reasoned that there were plenty just like him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he coined the phrase: “Nice guys finish last.” Freud would have a field day with him! LOL!
