Jumble Solved – 01/20/23

Kangaroos overrun small Australian town

Clue/Question:  The Kangaroos were winning the basketball game because of all their – – –

Aggressive Kangaroos Are Attacking Selfie-seeking Tourists in Australia

(I’ve heard of wheel-chair basketball and donkey basketball.  And I’ve heard of kangaroo boxing.  But I’ve never envisioned kangaroo basketball.  Their upper limbs look kind of weak, compared to their very impressive lower limbs, but with the advent of the “Air Bud” movies . . . why not?  Animals doing human activities can be very entertaining.  And, if nothing else, the very idea can make for an amusing Jumble!

No surprise that all of the clue words have been used before.  I’ve made a few suggestions – some of them even completely “politically correct” – to the guys, for new clue words, but so far just crickets.  Makes you wonder if they even bother to read our blog anymore!  At least three of the jumbles are new.  But we have definitely seen “nhett” in a previous Jumble.  They were all a slam dunk for me today.  The answer letter layout though was another twisting turnaround jump-shot of a twelve letter jumble!  A fair dinkum jumble, Hoyt!  Good on ya, mate!

The cartoon is jam-packed with hilarity!  Besides the kangaroo players – two of them executing a beautiful alley-oop – on the court, there is also an announcer and color team of a duckbill platypus and a koala bear.  Not totally sure which is which, but that really doesn’t matter.  They’re all really cute.  A fun finally Friday Jumble!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Like Yao Ming, Andrew Gaze was a tremendous basketball player, but Andy was from Down Unda! Two days of hoop talk in a row, such a blessing. He was also a stellar college player at Seton Hall back in the 80s when the Big East was a beast! Georgetown, Villanova, Providence, Syracuse, UConn…. What a group. I miss those days.

Speaking of missing, those folks 👉 were really scuffling wither the answer y’day commenting 32 times, 15 by their captain 🙋🏻‍♀️. Impressive. I think it was a tougher answer as well. We know how Friday’s can be…

Good luck to your Bills this weekend Unc! It should be a great game against the Bengals tomorrow afternoon. Burrow has really become one of the best QBs in the NFL. I predict a high scoring game with the Orchard Park squad coming out on top. 🏈

    Everyone have a FANtastic weekend!

Thanks, Smitty! I’m hoping that the home field advantage plays out. And our OC calls a more balanced/less risky game. — YUR

Sorry for the Bills loss Unc. I don’t particularly like to see any home team lose…especially sitting out in the snow, one deserves better.

Thanks, Jamie. It was a bitter pill, but life goes on. (I blame the coaching.) — YUR
