Answer: PREDICTABLE
(Plan a picnic! Followed closely by . . . washing your car. Very fun, though not really a pun. We have yet another new clue word, in “rarity”. I was surprised, because I thought we’d seen this word a month or so ago. But, if it did maybe it was after ralis95 posted the latest edition of his clue word database. Only the jumble for “abide” was definitely used before. The answer letter layout was a super jumble. The clue/question made the answer fairly obvious. Fun cartoon. Where can I get some of that Jumble wine? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

“Fairly obvious”??? I wish! Only in hindsight, alas.

I got the answer this morning. Didn’t have a lot of time yesterday to play around with the puzzler and I was stuck. So many clue letters and I was getting nowhere! Then after studying the puzzler, I was looking for an answer along the lines of how the weather affected the picnickers. Then it hit me this morning, it may have been about the forecast. Predictable! GRAND puzzler. I am ever amazed! LL
Yeah, Art. The combination of the word “forecast”, the couple’s displeasure with the weather, and the clue/question set up kind of telegraphed the answer to me. How did you do with Sunday’s Jumble? I struggled with THAT one, but a lot of people seemed to get it without any help from me.

I would have said RARITY is a repeat, too! I will yield to the database.
Herr Unc, I unfortunately don’t see the Sunday Jumble since dropping my Los Angeles Times subscription 2 or 3 years ago. So I can’t offer an opinion. But in general, I’m not very good at these things – find them far more difficult than crosswords or crytograms.
