Answer:  RIGHT OFF THE BAT

(Even with the advance warning, it took me a few minutes to get this answer.  I thought the first word might be AFTER, but when I saw how few vowels there were I changed my mind and was able to come up with RIGHT.  There were no new clue words today, but all of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  The answer letter layout was a masterpiece!  It did a great job of making me think.  The cartoon looks a little mixed up.  The hairstyles of the men at the bottom don’t look right for the time period, and the “kid” who just smacked the ball looks like he’s 15 or 16.  But, that’s just yer uncle nitpicking.  I wonder how many other newspaper’s switched the questions and the cartoons.  That was a first, from what I could see.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
