Answer:  CHICKENED OUT

(Nice, long, 12-letter answer!  Fairly rare for a Monday.  We actually have a surprisingly new clue word today, in “church”.  I do not see it on my latest version of the ralis95 clue word database.  How can it be that the Jumble creators have never gone to “church” before?  Bunch of Godless heathens!  LOL!  All of the clue words were jumbled well, and from my view they were all new jumblings.  The answer letter layout was yet another winner.  Nothing given away there.  The cartoon was great too.  I would’ve liked to see some kind of shout out to Buffalo, home of the hot wings, but it looks like even the Jumble goes out of its way to dis the city of Buffalo.  I remember chuckling to myself during one episode of The X-Files, a bunch of years ago, when the Smoking Man, aka: Cancer Man, declared that – by his decree – the Buffalo Bills will never be allowed to win a Super Bowl.  Roughly 20 years later, I no longer find the line amusing.  Some day we’re going to prove that dude wrong!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.”   —   Goethe

(It must be a kind of insecurity then that drives some people to mistreat others.  These people can only feel good about themselves when they are causing others not to succeed.  Very sad.  Be well and do good, friends.  I generally hate using this word, but obey the golden rule!)   —   YUR
