Answer:  DASHED

(Decent pun.  Nice wordplay on sprint/dash.  The clue words all appear to be tried and true.  None should have been too hard.  It’s hard to hide much in such a short answer letter layout, but it was done well.  I really enjoyed the cartoon though.  The guy on the left is going to get creamed!  After the long, holiday weekend I think they’re trying to ease us back in.  Be well and dp good, friends.)   —   YUR
