RJRUO  =  JUROR,  PHEDT  =  DEPTH,  BYUHCB  =  CHUBBY,  MOUMNS  =  SUMMON   —   Giving us:  JURDHUBMMO

Clue/Question:  They always played the same songs, and being the percussionist was a – – –

Middle Age Man Band

Answer:  HUMDRUM JOB

(Gotta love it!  It’s a good stinky pun, and it even sounds original.  I can’t remember seeing a Jumble with this answer before.  I get the feeling these guys have been playing together a long, long time.  Probably playing all the same songs they remember from the 1970s.  Playing the same songs over and over again would get pretty boring.

No new Clue words again.  Two of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen both “phedt” and “byuhcb” in previous Jumbles.  They all came to me quickly.  With all the political correctness that continues to go on we may not be able to say CHUBBY soon!  The answer letter layout was a terrific ten letter jumble.  Sufficiently cryptic.  I saw JOB right away, and then immediately picked up on HUMDRUM.

Great cartoon of the dad band.  It looks like they just get together for the occasional wedding and bar mitzvah.  And, one of the songs in their repertoire must be Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird”.  Hopefully, they only do the single version!  I wonder if they also do Dire Strait’s “Sultans of Swing”?  They all have daytime jobs.  They’re doin’ alright.  Maybe this is an actual band that Jeff Knurek knows?  Fun Jumble!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

  1. Looks like Ralis beat the folks over there 👉 today! They had JUROR as a new Jumble ™️ yet is on the famous database. Tell old Ralis that he does a great job with his word database and we finally outsmarted the old folks! And it was a JUROR who did it!

  2. That’s surprising, Smitty. As far as I can tell JUROR has been on the ralis95 clue word database for years. Maybe it hasn’t been used in quite a while? Remember, those other guys haven’t been doing this as long I have. A few years ago their guy, Mike, requested a copy of the ralis95 database, but I told them the Big Guy asked me NOT to share it, as he considered my copy to be like a professional courtesy. It’s very likely that they had to create their own database. — YUR

  3. Yes, you’re right. You and Ralis have been doing this a lot longer than them. Your database goes way back, where they don’t seem to remember the good old days. I remember Mike-from over there 👉. He was a nice guy. Seemed to believe both places could exist together in peace. Too bad they handed over the keys 🔑 to Ang@l& and she likes to stir up trouble with you 😔 . It’s ok I only lurk 👀 over there. But to your point, they only go back a few years, while this blog goes wayyyyy back, like my hairline 🧑‍🦲

Be well Unc. And have a super Memorial Day 🇺🇸 weekend everyone!

  4. She used to comment here, from time to time . . . to kind of try to show me up. I tolerated it. She even emailed me for a while. We hold some common interests and views. But I always knew that there was something kind of off about “her” persona. I know that there is/was someone who goes by that name, but we all know that identity theft, and impersonation, is rampant on the internet. So, I kept her at arm’s length. But I’ve always encouraged differing opinions on this blog. Of course, I have absolutely no problem arguing with people whose views differ from mine, but I refuse to block people because of their views, or because they disagree with people on other sites. But I draw the line at HATE SPEECH, and threats of violence. “She” has decided to boycott my site because I allow your comments. That’s her decision. I have no interest in visiting/commenting on that other site, but she is still welcome to comment here. I have not blocked “her”. Nor have I blocked “Mike”. I didn’t “approve” his post requesting we email each other, because it contained his email address, and I knew that there was a little tension between “him” and “her” on that other site, and I was already having second thoughts about emailing “her” anyway. It is still a Pending comment in my Comments queue. I also have an unapproved comment, from “her”, about a horse themed Jumble that I felt made her look silly. “She” was confusing horses with cows, so I thought I would spare her the embarrassment. I don’t even know why I save them. I probably should just delete them at this point. Funny hairline quip!

But you know me, Smitty, I try to get along with everyone. Even those poor misguided souls who are for Donald Trump! LOL!

I hope you have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend too, buddy!
