J.A. Happ chased early as Twins fall to White Sox – Twin Cities

Answer:  WELCOME RELIEF

(Some days you just don’t have your stuff.  Heat is always welcome, but the most important thing with pitching is just like with real estate:  location, location and location.  If you can’t find those corners, you’re either going to walk a lot of batters – when you miss – or you’re going to get clobbered, when you get too much of the strike zone.  I could never be a pitcher.

FLUKE, CHEER, WHIMSY and CLOSET are all on the ralis95 clue word database.  Two of their jumbles are coming up as new for me, but we have certainly seen “hecre” and “soltec” in earlier Jumbles.  The answer letter layout was a threatening thirteen letter jumble.  Craftily cryptic.  I saw WELCOME first, and then RELIEF.

Great cartoon of the skipper taking the ball from the pitcher.  That pitcher definitely looks dejected.  Great baseball stadium.  The one thing that looks a little odd is  the player in the background.  It looks like he’s running, but he couldn’t be a base-runner as he’s running the wrong way.  Maybe this is the reliever coming in from the bullpen.  The angle is a little funny, but that’s the only thing that makes sense.  Good Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
