(Quaint and cute.  Old Ray may not be living off of a fat pension, but at least he can supplement his income by doing odd jobs for other people his own age.  This is more likely Arizona.  Or even South Africa, I suppose.  It looks to be a heck of a lot warmer than the Hudson Valley region of New York, where it’s currently – around noon – 17° but feels like 7°.  I guess I should be happy I don’t live in International Falls, MN or Caribou, ME, but those people are accustomed to mega-frigid winters.  We’re not!  We are used to it being four or five degrees degrees above freezing, during the daytime.  We’ll survive.  But, our heating bill is going to be astronomical!

No new clue words today, but some decent jumbling.  “Misery” was the most interesting jumble.  It’s funny, the word “misery” was also prominent in the Cryptoquote today.  Fine job on the answer letter layout.  It did not give away anything.  Great cartoon, too.  No one looks cranky today!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

PS.  Rest in peace, Pete Seeger!  Thank you, for inspiring generations of folk singers and political activists.  Whether it was civil rights, the environment, or the anti-war effort you could always be counted on to shine the spotlight on all forms of injustice.  With a hammer, a bell and a rousing song about love between our brothers and our sisters, you have taught us all that by banding together we shall overcome . . . some day.  Peace be with you, Pete!      YUR

The greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.”   —   Martha Washington

(Could this be our first Martha Washington quotation?  It looks like the first since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  While there certainly is a lot of truth to this statement, it also doesn’t hurt being born into a very wealthy family.  It’s much easier being rosy with resources, than trying to be cheery while cold, wet and hungry.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
