Jumble Spoiler – 08/25/10

Visual Description:  A good luck sign at the coronation?

UNAFA  =  FAUNA,  REBBI  =  BRIBE,  GONING  =  NOGGIN,  TIDOAR  =  ADROIT   —   Giving us:  NEGRI

Clue/Question:  When the shower dampened the coronation, it became a . . .

Answer:  REIGN

(These guys must live in one of the Mid-Atlantic states, because after a late Spring and Summer of drought and heatwaves – BUT GLOBAL WARMING IS JUST A LIBERAL MYTH, RIGHT? – we’ve seen 3 straight days of rain and cloudy skys.  We needed the rain badly, and I’m sure most of us are glad to give the AC some time off.  The electric bills have been HUGE!  Oh, well.  Great clue words today!  The guys probably should be a little more sensitive to some of their readers.  “REBBI” is a variant of Rebbe, which is derived from Rabbi.  Associating the word “BRIBE”  with “REBBI” could be viewed as insulting.  Yer Uncle thinks the world – especially the U.S. – is much too caught up in political correctness, but that’s life in the 21st century!  Be good, do good, people!)   —   YUR

Not to hard today, guess if they were all hard most people would want to do them.. Kinda puts a damper on it though when you can figure it out without doing the jumbles.. Oh well. 🙂

That is precisely WHY you NEVER look at the cartoon, before unscrambling the clue words, Justin, my boy! You MUST avert your eyes from what is, far too often, the dead give-away! At least, those are the rules that I go by. You, of course, can do whatever you like. 🙂

I like to take short cuts. As long as you get the same result…
    A cryptoquote I’d like to see…
A good plan, violently executed today is better than a perfect plan next week.
    Gen. Patton

    J-man,

That’s the kind of quote – especially, with that specific phrasing – that needs to be considered in the context of *the heat of battle* and when *time is of the essence*. Otherwise, it just kind of comes off as (borderline?) psychotic.

A more palatable phrasing that I found goes like this:

“A good plan executed today is better than a perfect plan executed at some indefinite point in the future.”

    Here’s my source, bro:

Hey! Maybe this quote is where Barack Obama is getting his inspiration from!?!? It would explain a LOT!
