Answer:  “LESSEN“ PLAN

(Clever pun!  It took me a couple of minutes to get this one.  For some reason, I was reading the end of the clue/question as THE, instead of A.  That threw me a little.  So, at first I suspected that the second word was LESS, but I couldn’t do anything with PLNEAN.  But, I was able to see the word PLAN in it.  And, then I saw the light.  No new clue words today, but all of the jumbles came up as new.  The one for “lunacy” stumped me for a minute.  The answer letter layout was a slendiforous jumble.  It certainly didn’t help me out any.  The cartoon was kind of your standard elementary classroom fare, but it got the job done.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
