(Adorable Jumble pun! I can’t stand anchovies, but I might actually try ant-chovies! So many insects are a sensible source of protein. I imagine the red ants would actually be a little spicy! Once again, today’s final answer seems fresh. I can’t recall an earlier Jumble punning the word anchovy this way.
All of today’s clue words are already on the ralis95 clue word database. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me. But we have surely seen “nkaryc” in at least one earlier Jumble. The answer letter layout was a terrific ten letter jumble. I thought it was crafted very cryptically. There were a lot of clues to this final answer. From the sign above the porcupine, to the quotation marks and hyphen in the final answer slots. And of course, most people know the aardvark is very similar – in some ways – to the anteater.
Great cartoon of the aardvarks inside the porcupine’s pizza parlor. I suppose it could be a hedgehog, but then you’d lose the fantastic alliteration. At a quick glance this morning, I thought this was going to be a Democrat vs. an Republican cartoon, as I thought the upper aardvark looked a little like a donkey, and the lower one came off a little like an elephant!
