Clue/Question:  It was going to cost $500 to change her flight which she thought was an – – –

United Tests New Customer-Service Strategy to Save Trips During Storms

Answer:  UNFAIR AIRFARE

(We all stood by and allowed all these – unholy – mergers to take place, and now we are all paying the price!  Routine overbooking.  Squeezing in more rows of seats at the expense of sane/safe comfortable leg room.  Nickel and diming us with charging for seat selection, checked bags, and meals – such as they were – that used to be part of the ticket price.  Also DIY check-in and segregated baggage check-in.  So, of course they’re going to charge us to re-book a flight that’s already been paid for!  And, the passengers’ bill of rights is pretty much a joke!   The price of unfettered – unregulated – capitalism.

All four clue words are on the ralis95 clue word database.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen both “finsf” and “cannue” in earlier Jumbles.  The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble.  Nicely cryptic.  Ending the clue/question with “an” was a big clue for me.

Fine cartoon of the harried traveler trying to resolve the issue of her canceled flight.  The counter person is blameless.  She is only adhering to her greedy employer’s policies.  The airlines know that we are basically sheep, and that we will accept anything that they say and do.  Remember when the phrase:  “the customer is always right” carried the day?  . . . Yeah, neither do I.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
