Netflix earnings poised to show growth, sideline Hollywood strike

Answer:  STRIKE A POSE

(A fine stinky Monday morning pun!  As you all know, the Writers Guild of America went on strike back on May the 2nd.  Today marks the 111th day of the strike.  As you may have noticed, there has been nothing but re-runs on pretty much since then.  It’s all due to the streaming services and the rise of artificial intelligence.  The bosses of the streaming services don’t want to share the profits with the writers, and the writers are – justly – worried that the bosses will rely more and more on AI to do the writing.  Yet another example of technology outpacing our ability to properly manage it.  The world could really use a prolonged TIMEOUT!  You probably also know that the actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA, went on strike in mid July, for pretty much the same reasons.  Maybe we should all refrain from streaming until all sides can come to an equitable resolution.

All four clue words have been used before.  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  But we’ve definitely seen “tnokyt” in an earlier Jumble.  They all came to me right away.  The answer letter layout made for an effective eleven letter jumble.  I don’t think it gave anything away.  But the final answer came to me immediately.

Fine cartoon of the striking protestors, and the photographer who is trying to take their photo, for some kind of news forum.  Protest is as American as apple pie!  I think that the national news outlets should report on this, on a daily basis, similar to how they did in the late ’60s – early ’70s with the War in Vietnam.  They don’t need to make a big production of it, just remind everyone of how many days each has been going on, and if there’s been any progress.  Does anyone think that AI could ramble on like I do?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

  1. I believe in the right to strike 🪧 and support their decision to strike 🪧. I also think, like you Unc, they should get more attention in the National news. BUT 🍑 I also think they are being spoiled brats 🤓 and hope the Producers don’t cave in to their demands. I’m hoping this strike drags out for quite a few more months 📅. I’m enjoying the standstill. I don’t watch that crap 💩 anyway, so the longer the better! Whenever folks like this go on strike, I always root for the bosses… they are in the Union 🐜 and they make Union wages 💴 🖕 LIVE WITH IT!

Speaking of 💩, the depends-wearing crew over there 👉 farted 💨 18x y’day, 10 by their proud pooper-scooper 🙋🏻‍♀️. She doesn’t take any sh@t 💩 from anyone! Old Jim had a tough time but he’s 100 so we give him a break 🦯.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told a woman to ‘go back to Australia’ after a video saying she was shocked by all the American flags in the US. 🇺🇸. He’s right! Gotta love ❤️ the Gov! Everything is bigger in Texas! 🇺🇸. Especially his ego…

Stay safe out there! Pray 🙏 for Los Angeles ☔️ 😝

  2. We DO see a lot of things differently, Smitty. I generally side with labor over management, but this isn’t about “wages” it’s about residuals. The streaming bosses are the spoiled brats because they want it ALL. Streaming services are just another example of technology outpacing peoples ability to manage it!

Don’t know/care who “Old Jim” is.

Abbott, and the vast majority of Texans, are douche-bags, as far as I’m concerned! (I know a few who aren’t though. And I miss Ann Richards and Barbara Jordan.) Didn’t hear about the Aussie lady, but I don’t dig jingoism much myself. True patriots do NOT have to hide behind the flag, brother.
