Cryptoquote Solved – 08/23/23

Charles Simic, Pulitzer-Winning Poet and U.S. Laureate, Dies at 84 - The New York Times

Inside my empty bottle I was constructing a lighthouse while all the others were making ships.”   —   Charles Simic

(This quote has a more than slightly arrogant tone to it.  Not being a fan of poetry, I couldn’t tell you if this is from one of his poems, or not.  It doesn’t sound very poetic, to me.  But what do I know?!  I do know that this is the first of Mr. Simic’s quotes to be used for a Cryptoquote!  At least since I’ve been posting them.  So, we – posthumously – welcome Charles Simic to the Cryptoquote Club today.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
