“Towards the conclusion of our walk we make such deplorable ragged figures.” — Elizabeth Carter
(What??? Was Lizzie forced to walk the Trail of Tears, or the Bataan Death March??? Actually, this woman, who I’d – sadly – never heard of before, lived before both of those tragic events. But she was way ahead of her time! Very highly educated, she spoke French and Italian, and was fluent in Latin and Greek. This poet lady could do it all, and she was kind of the precursor of a feminist. Respected by the greatest minds of her day. Maybe, like a lot of Black History, they tended to hide a lot of Women’s History? Hey, they always said: “It’s a man’s world!” And, maybe John Lennon WAS completely correct with his now “politically incorrect” song??? Censorship is wrong, no matter who enforces it. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

They’re the “slaves of the slaves.” jl
Uh uh uh, Wes! That is another new age No No. They’re the “enslaved of the enslaved.” Isn’t it crazy how even lifelong progressives have to parse out their words??? DID you hear that “LOL” has become passé with the youngsters. Now they prefer “IJBOL”. It stands for I Just Burst Out Laughing. I think I would reserve that for something pretty hilarious. LOL is more versatile, like the thumb’s up emoji . . . that also has been criticized! The more WE try to use these things, the more THEY want to change them! WCW (We Can’t Win)

You’re right, I should watch my back. But jl was right.
Ah, there are much more stuff considered passé (now you’re dating yourself ijbol) to anyone born after 1999.
But in any case, there’s no love lost between me and damned emojis and avatars and that sort of think, which dates me, of course, but I’m sure I’m also looked down ’cause I find a simple thumbs-up just fine.
‘How dare he?’ and all that, but I’m trying to act as retired, unwilling to engage, so I tend to ignore the barking dogs. Cheers
Puts me in mind of some Neil Young lyrics:
Don’t you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And
knowhope they love hope you— YUR
