10 Behind-The-Scenes Stories From 'Interview With The Vampire'

Visual Description:  The Vampire Weekend retreat.

EBTER  =  BERET,  COEVI  =  VOICE,  SLNMOA  =  SALMON,  TULIDE  =  DILUTE   —   Giving us:  BREVOISALODLTE

Clue/Question:  Dracula went to his family reunion and was surrounded by his – – –

Cage puts some bite in 'Renfield' – ORANGE COUNTY TRIBUNE

Answer:  BLOOD RELATIVES

(What???  You thought the answer might be in-laws???  Many family reunions DO include in-laws, but ya can’t make a vampire joke outta that.  My Mom’s remaining family – at the time – did have a nice family reunion, in a Bed & Breakfast that used to be the house that my Mom, Aunt and Uncle grew up in.  It was great!  It’s a beautiful, old Greek Revival house, set out in the country, that hasn’t been modernized.  It was pretty much just as my Uncle remembered it.  For reasons all her own, my Mother did NOT attend the reunion.  And, a month later she was dead.  Ah . . . such is life.

All four clue words are on the ralis95 clue word database!  BERET came up in describing the mime Jumble a couple of days ago, although it was not a clue word then.  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  However, we have assuredly seen “tulide” in at least one previous Jumble.  All fine jumbles.  The answer letter layout was formidable fourteen letter jumble.  I thought it was ghoulishly cryptic.  The cartoon and clue/question were what gave it away, for me.

Great cartoon of the vam-fam affair!  Both Bram Stoker and Anne Rice would be proud of Jeff’s efforts.  I particularly liked the nephew.  He’s quite a punk.  And – ironically – he kinda reminds me of Nicolas Cage, who is currently starring in the movie “Renfield”.  And, way back in 1988, he starred in the movie “Vampire’s Kiss”, along with the lovely Jennifer Beals.  I know I haven’t seen “Renfield” yet, and I don’t think I ever saw “Vampire’s Kiss”, but I do enjoy Nick Cage movies.  Very fun Jumble.  Good gags!  Be well and do good, friends.  Don’t drink other’s blood, please!)   —   YUR

  1. So, very strange happening with this jumble — actually the jumble in the paper.

I do the jumble in a composition book since we no longer get the paper and I pull up the paper on-line. The jumbles are all in order by date in my composition book.

So, in my book I have the 6/15, and 6/16 jumbles all worked out — the clue words unjumbled and written down, the clue letters culled out and written down, and then the jumble answer.

I get to the 6/17/23 paper and find the jumble. The first clue word is QUOTA. I’m like, didn’t we just have that. Then the second clue word was PLANK…WHAT! The 6/17/23 jumble is exactly the same as the 6/15 jumble. Really???

I then decide to pull up the jumble in the 6/15 paper — low and behold, it is the correct 6/15 jumble–answer: BLOOD RELATIVES.

So confused. Then the Husb ssuggested that probably the powers that be had realized their mistake and corrected the 6/15 paper jumble and put the correct Jumble in the 6/17 paper (answer ARROWGANT).

So —- that’s my story. All three days had great Jumbles!

Hope everyone is well!! Somehow I have a new ICON again! My blue one is gone. Unc, am I still posting as me??? LindaLee

  2. I think I agree with your husband, LL. They probably made their correction on the sly. You look the same to me, hon! It might depend on what email address you’re using. That is if you use more than one.

  3. Good — glad my “account” looks OK. I have no new email! And, the icon thingy when I’m typing is a round purple buggy looking thing, and then when it goes through, it is an orange strange looking thing! But, I don’t care as long as I’m getting through! Thanks, Unc. LL
