Clue/Question: When the elephants worked together to move the downed trees, they were – – –
Answer: “MULTI–TUSKING“
(Gotta love it! Who doesn’t love elephants??? Well . . . maybe the pygmies between their toes might have an objection . . . or two. But, other than those caught underfoot I think that most people can appreciate elephants. They are highly intelligent and sociable creatures. They use their trunks to pick things up, to suck up water, and even to use as a snorkel when in deep water! Besides their trumpet calls they can communicate through seismic signals – they can detect vibrations in the ground through their bones! Their outer skin is nearly an inch thick! And, due to their unusually large temporal lobes, they have amazing memories. You’ve probably heard that An elephant never forgets! Well, there’s truth in that old saw. How do you think Hannibal beat the Roman wedge, testudo/phalanx, and triple line??? With charging elephants, of course!
All four of today’s clue words are on the ralis95 clue word database. Two of the jumbles are coming up as new for me, but we’ve definitely seen “mupel” and “numiem” in earlier Jumbles. I saw all the clue words right away though. The answer letter layout was a tenacious twelve letter jumble! I thought that there was nothing obvious about it at all. But, probably because of the hyphen, quotation marks, and clever cartoon, I was able to come up with the final answer immediately. Hey! If I do these puzzles while drinking coffee, and eating my eggs . . . am I multi-tasking? I always hated it when managers would say: You need to multi-task! Today, the muckety-mucks say that multi-tasking is NOT effective. So, those Work smarter, not harder morons were wrong! LOL!
Great cartoon of elephants policing the savanna. I’m guessing that Jeff is giving us the African bush elephants, and not the African forest elephants. All species of elephants are highly endangered, due to poaching for their – ivory – tusks, and loss of habitat. Man needs to do a better job of protecting these gentle giants. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

If I had not multi-tasked, I would never have gotten everything done!
