Visual Description:  Ferdinand, surveilling the ocean blue.

SOREA  =  AROSE,  WOYHD  =  HOWDY,  LEYWOL  =  YELLOW,  EPCOIT  =  POETIC   —   Giving us:  ARSHDELWOET

Clue/Question:  Magellan set out to circumnavigate the globe and was able to . . .

Answer:  SEA THE WORLD

(MUCH, much better!  No new clue words, but very clever jumbling.  I actually had some difficulty in getting both “yellow” and “poetic”.  I didn’t need to back into either one, but I thought they were relatively tough.  And, the answer letter layout was beautifully cryptic, today.  Not a thing given away there!  And, a pretty good drawing of Ferdinand Magellan.  I bet Jeff took a peek at one of his kid’s history book!  Very pleasant end to the work week!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
