Clue/Question: The barber who cut the Beatles’ hair in 1963 did a – – –
Answer: BANG–UP JOB
(I apologize, to all who felt that I mislead them, in regards to yesterday’s answer. I could have easily written “TIE” COBB, but I was trying to make a point about Pete Rose, and his penchant for placing the BET – multiple, actually – while still actively part of the game of baseball. I realize there have been a few instances where I genuinely did not know the answer, and also a few instances where I made it kind of a game for you guys to give me the answer, but this was not one of those times. Thank you for the numerous comments, giving me the answer, but that’s not what I was shooting for. I was hoping to further the debate, of whether Pete Rose should, or shouldn’t, be forgiven for his offences, but it looks like I failed in that regard.
Today’s Jumble was much more cut and dry. No new clue words, but three of the jumbles did come up as new. We have seen “nepdu” before. I thought “tagrye” was excellent! I almost, but not quite, thought I might have to back into it. The answer letter layout was another swell jumble. The hyphen, in the answer spaces, and the excellent cartoon gave me the answer. I can’t quite decide if George’s hair has already been cut, or if he’s up next! It looks just a tad shaggier. But, that could be just the way his turned out. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
