(Nice little holiday twist, there! Season’s Greetings to Greetings Season. I like it! I zipped through all the clue words, this morning. Although, everything was well-jumbled. Surprisingly, to me, both “glossy” and “assign” are new to the ralis95 database. And from yesterday’s Jumble, “upend” – expected – and “genius” – unexpected – were new to the database. I was in too much of a hurry to check yesterday. Today’s answer letter layout was a thing of beauty. Not the most festive cartoon, but it got its point across. At our house the Christmas cards go up on a linen closet door. It’s right between the kitchen and the hall bathroom, right at the top of the stairs! A little sparse this year. Only about 20 cards . . . so far. We usually get a few more in the week following. I’ve been bad the past few years about sending out cards, so that likely explains the relative drought on the receiving end this year. But, I actually managed to send out about 30 cards this year! All during this last week, so I’m sure that a few of mine will be received a little late, as well. I’d like to wish all Jumble and Cryptoquote puzzle enthusiasts a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah and a Happy Kwanzaa! From my very secular perspective, any occasion that bring friends and family together, for a celebration of loving and giving, is a very worthwhile endeavor. We are actually more connected by our commonalities, than we are separated by our differences. And, this is the perfect time of year to realize this. Don’t stress over a specific greeting, my friends. Happy Holidays is the safest greeting. It’s sufficiently generic. But, if you go out on that limb to wish someone – one way, or another – and you guess wrong . . . no harm . . . no foul. You just wished someone a “Merry” or a “Happy”. Why would anybody be upset with that? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
