(HAPPY NEW YEAR’S, EVERYBODY!!!  I, for one, am looking forward to a better year in 2016.  2015 did not smile upon yer Uncle Rave, but hope springs eternal.

We seem to have a new clue word today, in “honcho”.  Which is a little strange, because you’d figure the head honcho of the world famous clue word database would already have entered the word honcho to the list!  But, he is the humble compiler of clue words.  He merely goes by whatever the Hoyty-toyties put forth into the Jumblesphere.  Two more of the jumbles came up as new, as we’ve seen “keeov” already.  I initially stumbled on “geyser”, going for “greesy”, which is my mind’s mashup of greasy and cheesy.  But, I caught myself even before going on to “honcho”, so it wasn’t so bad.  Another bang-up job on the answer letter layout.  Nothing given away there, at all.  The cartoon shows our boys, and their wives, in fine form.  Be well, do good, and stay safe tonight, my friends.  Enjoy the festivities, but don’t get sloppy drunk.  If you’re going out, have a non-drinking designated driver at your disposal.  And remember, New Year’s Eve is amateur night, so even if you’re okay you really have to watch out for the other guy/s.  Peace, and Happy 2016 to all!)   —   YUR
