“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.” — Mark Twain
(And, how hard could that be to come by? We are the more slovenly of the sexes. Aren’t we, guys? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

“Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you’ll start to see a big difference in your life.” — Yoko Ono
(Sounds like sound advice to me. Why shouldn’t your first smile of the day come from yourself?! Then, hopefully, it will become contagious, and you’ll smile at others. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
“Too many women in too many countries speak the same language, of silence.” — Anasuya Sengupta
(You said it, Ana. Things are slowly getting better, but change comes painfully slow in many third world – and many fundamentalist – countries. Heck, it doesn’t come fast in even the more modern and progressive countries. Yoko Ono probably said it best when she said, and John Lennon later sang: “Woman is the Nigger of the world.” Always treated as second class citizens, or worse, as property, women have had to endure in silence for far too long. Things are improving, but as with racial issues and other sexuality issues, acceptance of equality doesn’t follow a straight line. We are continually running into spikes of resistance. We will ever confront the ignorance, intolerance and injustice with intelligence, patience and fairness. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Coincidentally, Yoko Ono celebrates her 81st birthday today! Happy Birthday, Yoko! — YUR
