Clue/Question: Ben Franklin was able to invent bifocals because of his ability to – – –
Answer: “VISUAL–EYES“
(Again, yesterday’s Cryptoquote had both vision and eyes in it. She has had a few references to eyes this past week. I thought that this made for a wonderful pun. Not stinky, in the least. Very homophonic! I like using that word, because WordPress doesn’t recognize it.
No new clue words today. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “seyms” in the past. None of them stumped me today. The answer letter layout was a lovely ten letter jumble. Wonderfully cryptic. For me, the leading nature of the clue/question was the big clue.
Great historic, period piece cartoon. Ol’ Ben definitely had an eye for the ladies. But, he also had a healthy respect for intelligent women. And, he often sought their council. Some of today’s fem-ditto-heads would simply dismiss him as a sexist, but I’d disagree with them. Be well and do good friends.) — YUR
