Global Warming Deniers on WordPress.com

Can someone, please, tell me: What is the big attraction with the Global Warming Walrus, who all too frequently claims the lead WordPress page?  Are there really that many global warming denying DOPES floating around on WordPress?   It would seem to be a matter of “hits”, unless the people who run Wordpess.com are also major Global Warming Deniers.  Are they mainly British? Is The Walrus a “real” person, or is he merely designed to be the unassuming shlub who can be trusted as an “expert”?
