Answer:  INFLATED EGO

(Well, alright!  A sufficiently aerated pun!  Not exaggerated or overblown.  We had no new clue words today, although all the jumbles appear to be new.  “Allow” is a word that spells out in alphabetical order.  I struggled a bit with both “secede” and “tights”, but didn’t have to back into them.  The answer letter layout was great, but the cartoon setup made the answer fairly obvious.  The clown holding the standard wiener-dog balloon pretty much says it all, but Cassidy’s self-promotion certainly didn’t hurt.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
