Clue/Question: When they started charging a toll to use the bridge, it was a – – –
Answer: “FEE–ASCO“
(Excellent pun, of an excellent clue word! I think we had a jumble of fiasco within the last week, or so. Don’t ask me when though, because all I do know is that it wasn’t yesterday! I remember the days when the government would tell us that the tolls were only until the bonds were being paid off. And, then it would be free! Big lie. They quickly realized the kind of revenues the tolls were generating, so they made them permanent! And, just about every chance they get . . . they raise the tolls . . . citing one bogus lie after another. Don’t even get me started on EZ-Pass!
No new clue words again today. However, all of the jumbles are coming up as new. No toughies for me, today. The answer letter layout was a clever seven letter jumble. It was nicely cryptic.
Fine cartoon of a traffic jam at a newly tolled bridge. I liked the protesters. I also liked the harried toll-taker. But, $3.00 is relatively cheap. I think they charge $15.00 to cross the George Washington Bridge now. Thieving bastards! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
