Visual Description: “. . . the loneliest number that you’ll ever do.”
NAOCG = CONGA, CNMHU = MUNCH, UGOATE = OUTAGE, DSLEET = ELDEST — Giving us: NAMNOAEDES
Clue/Question: The individual digits that make up the number 11 are – – –
Answer: ONE AND THE SAME
(I’m getting the feeling that we’ve had this Jumble before. If not exactly the same, then something very similar. Maybe, it’s just these anthropomorphic numbers, on an infinite grid, that are freaking me out a little. Reminiscent of some scenes from “The Matrix” movies. I remember watching those . . . and not fully understanding what the heck was going on! Yer uncle is not really a fan of obscure symbolism. He’s a simple soul.
All of today’s clue words have definitely been used before. Two of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve seen both “naocg” and “dsleet” sometime before. Surprisingly, three of today’s jumbles gave me some trouble. Not back into trouble, but skip and come back to trouble. The only one I saw right off the bat was “munch”. Good job, David L. Hoyt! The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble. Decently cryptic, but the final answer for me was a little anticlimactic, considering the difficulty I had getting some of the jumbles.
Another fine Jeff Knurek numbers cartoon, but there’s really not a whole lot to praise. Numbers on a grid are just so antiseptic. But where else is he going to put them? It would be tough putting them into any other kind of setting. Today’s songs are the antithesis of antiseptic. They are downright funky! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
