Clue/Question:  When their new air conditioner unit broke down so quickly, they – – –

Does My Air Conditioner Need To Be Replaced? | Robbins Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.

Answer:  LOST THEIR COOL

(Well, of course they did!  When anything recently purchased breaks down we all tend to get hot under the collar.  It is the sad state of our corporate world.  They don’t build anything to last anymore.  We just finally got rid of our Amana side-by-side refrigerator freezer, after 35 years of service!  It made all sorts of periodic whirring sounds over the last five years, but it kept on doing the job, until a few weeks ago.  The fridge still worked, but the freezer started crapping out.  A good cleaning of the coils gave it a slight reprieve, but she just wasn’t the same.  So, now we have a brand new Whirlpool, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it lasts more than a couple of years.  I sprung for the five-year extended warranty.

Today’s clue words have stood the test of time.  However, all four of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  Some of our younger readers may surprised to find out it’s not spelled HOLLA!  The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble.  I found nothing obvious about it.  “I kept my cool, I ain’t no fool, let me tell ya what I did then.”  Can anybody give me the next line . . . and name that tune???

Great cartoon of the more than upset young couple.  This is more than a slow burn.  They appear to be boiling mad.  Even steaming mad.  But who could blame them?  “Some feel the heat and decide that they can’t go on.”  Another great tune.  One of you out there should be able to name one of these tunes.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Pre-Answer:  Two Words  (7-letters)  (8-letters)

Guardlife - The Magazine of the New Jersey National Guard

Answer:  GENERAL VICINITY

(All dressed up . . . and nowhere to go!  Hey, what was Patton’s favorite holiday?  March Fourth! *Ba-dum-tsss*!  And, where does the Army get their starred leaders?  The General Store! *Ba-dum-tsss*!  One more:  Who always wins at Army trivia games?  General Knowledge! *Ba-dum-dum-tsss*!  Alright, that’s enough bad military puns.

All of today’s clue words are already on the ralis95 clue word database.  However, all of their jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  They all came to me quickly though.  The answer letter layout was a fantastic fifteen letter jumble.  I definitely did not find it obvious.  The clue/question just didn’t roll off my tongue very well.  But the pun eventually sunk in.

Fine cartoon of a World War II era Army base.  Even though it’s small, it’s a pretty good likeness of General Patton!  I like the American flag behind the tent/barracks.  Challenging Sunday Jumble!  Glad my newspaper didn’t screw up this week!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
